If you're a beach person, the beaches at the nearby coastal resorts of Cromer and Sheringham are only a few minutes away by car. If you do not drive, there is a great local bus service to the coast. Situated on a hilltop in open countryside, "HOME AGAIN" is ideally placed to explore the local landscape. There are numerous footpaths and bridleways and the local nature area, Spout Hills, is well worth a visit. Holt Country Park and Holt Lowes are also close to the town and ideal places to go for a stroll in the evening.

Holt is well known for its shops, cafes and local hostelries. At Barker and Larner, you can buy anything from a tap washer to caviar. Byfords Cafe and Delicatessen is one of the best in the area, but Alberts Fish & Chip Shop is always our first stop. Our favourite time in Holt is at Christmas when the town centre sparkles with light from mid-November and Holt turns into a mini-Harrods.

Well worth a go is the steam train that runs on the Poppy Line which takes you through the beautiful North Norfolk countryside to Sheringham. A short drive soon gets you to Sheringham Park, Brickling Hall Gardens and Fellbrigg Hall Gardens & Park. There are many more National Trust properties and RSPB Nature & Bird Reserves in the area to search out and visit. Not forgetting the many picturesque villages and towns in the locality for you to explore. From Morston or Blakeney Quays, you can take a boat trip to see the nearby seal colony at the Blakeney Point Nature Reserve.
